Have you tried individual therapy for yourself or other family members, and yet you feel like it’s just not enough?

Family is the source of many of our deepest wounds.

But they can also become a place where we experience healing.

I won’t lie to you.

It can be difficult to find a therapist who is not only comfortable with the complexity and intensity of family dynamics, but also competent in helping a family restore relationships, or build healthy relationships for the first time.

Family therapy often gets overlooked in favor of individual therapy for each family member, but…

There is something irreplaceable about getting everyone in a room together to address family dynamics in real time.

It’s the most effective way to help you learn how to connect, navigate conflict, repair hurt, and forge a new path forward as a family unit.

I work with families across a broad spectrum, from helping parents who are trying to manage a teen or child’s struggles with truancy, legal issues, or behavior problems, to guiding adult children and parents through the emotional challenges of allowing evolving relationships to heal and grow.

I use a combination of approaches in family therapy, including:

Functional Family Therapy (FFT)

A focus on attachment

Motivational interviewing (MI)

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

Narrative approaches

I don’t approach family therapy looking to blame one member of the family for all the problems, and I’m not there to “fix” the troublemaker.

For me, the family as a whole is my client.

When one person in this interlocking system acts out, they may draw a lot of negative attention—but it’s a symptom of a system that’s out of balance, and often the best way to resolve it is to heal the whole system.

So whether you’re the one carrying the weight of blame for your family’s struggles, or whether you’re feeling helpless to make your family members change, I promise I’m not going to take sides.

I would love to talk more with you, to help you decide if this is a good fit for your family.
